This publication was developed in collaboration with the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and the Pierce County Antimicrobial Resistance Task Force - Infection Control & Prevention Committee. It is intended to explain the differences between hospitals and skilled nursing facilities when caring for people with MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus). It was developed based on common questions from patients, residents, family members, caregivers, and staff from hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. Topics include: prevention, personal care, and housekeeping. It was tested with the intended audience using intercept interviews.
